Pecan cookies, pecan't eat just one!

By Tina - August 26, 2015
I made pecan cookies today. Pecan cookies are not the same as pecan sandies. Pecan sandies use a shortbread cookie base. These pecan cookies have more of a traditional sugar cookie base... kinda..?**  But they're pretty good! They're thin and crispy and not too sweet. Most importantly, my dad really likes them... and I hope that you like them too! All the ingredients!!! Ingredients...

Gut: The Inside Story of Our Body's Most Underrated Organ book review

By Tina - August 24, 2015
Ever since reading Guila Ender's Gut: The Inside Story of Our Body's Most Underrated Organ, I have been pretty obsessed with my bowel movements and also I am way more conscious of salivating.  This was a good read. The pace is very fast, and I didn't feel boggled down and overwhelmed with the scientific terms (all the science stuff sounded very credible... but I...

Part 1: I made a golden snitch clock

By Tina - August 09, 2015
My college roommate's birthday is coming up and I wanted to make her a golden snitch wall clock.  In Chinese culture, giving clocks as gifts is considered a major faux pas. 送鐘 (sòng zhōng, to give a clock) in Mandarin is a homophone of 送終 (sòng zhōng, to attend a funeral), so it's not great. Clocks also symbolize the end of time, and unfortunately that sentient...
